The speaker from Bagenz tells how her father converted a barn into a house and how there was a fire in Laubsdorf caused by arson. She tells which buildings exist on the farm. Pigsty, horse stable, barn, smokehouse. As a factory worker she earned 12 marks a week. She tells how the farmland was turned into ponds.
Her father received 1 mark and she herself 40 pfennigs for drudgery with the landowner. For a pound of butter they got 1 mark at the Spremberg market. The merchandise was carried to Spremberg by pannier and they walked to save the fare. The first bicycles that came to Bagenz were very high and the speaker only learned to ride a bicycle at the age of 40 (1912), today she is 80 years old. The parcels here around Kaminka are called Hobrisch, Gole, Zaswoj and at the back the Neuhausen land is called Snitki (cut cate oak).
